Teacher & Facilitator

#UnleashYourDuende

Rosales began teaching in 2004 with the Lower Eastside Girls Club and Hudson Guild through her late mentor Andrea Del Conte & Danza España.  Over the following decade, she has become a Resident Teaching Artist for numerous leading Arts in Education organizations, including New York City Center, University Settlement, Educational Alliance, & Ballet Hispanico.  In addition to her community engagement work, Rosales has joined the faculty rosters of esteemed dance studios such as STEPS on Broadway & Broadway Dance Center and has been invited as Guest Artist for Los Angeles Arts Collective (Los Angeles, CA), Hubbard Street Dance (Chicago, IL), and in 2015 made her international teaching debut in Heilongjiang, China at the Jun Hui Dance Academy & Harbin Gongnongbing Elementary School.

In 2016, Rosales founded & opened House of Duende, a nonprofit multicultural dance studio in East Harlem.  Although the studio closed its doors in early 2018, Rosales’ signature “Unleash Your Duende” Workshop was birthed and has since been commissioned by Gibney Dance, Movement Research, and BRIC Arts Media.  The workshop has expanded from a creative movement workshop for dancers to include versions focused in Community Building & Women Empowerment for non-dancers alike. In addition to further exploring the #UnleashYourDuende process, Rosales is bringing her passion for teaching full circle in the development of her Urban Gypsy Project, a holistic flamenco-based intercultural dance program designed for young women that aims to build self-confidence, foster community, and encourage creativity through the universal language of dance.
